    never complain, never explain.

    posted by Stephan Jenkins

I think someone said that about Kate Moss once — love that woman! Nevertheless, I’ll try to say some things about this hoo-ha that’s been generated.

We sued our ex manager. We didn’t want to but we had to. I hate things like that. It’s stupid and wasteful. We settled today. Boring.

We pulled down a piece about Arion because we did not like the way it was characterized. We love Arion. I think he is the most talented rock musician full stop. If he came back and wanted to play on Ursa Minor, nothing would make me happier.

I hadn’t met any other musicians when I started 3eb. I sat on my bed in the ower Haight writing songs on my guitar about how beautiful and desperate my life was. Alas, it still is, but that means there’s plenty to say. And I am still sitting on my bed writing songs, and they are going to go on Ursa Minor, which, indeed my friends, we are recording.

Many people have played in the band. Some we’re still close to (Leo remains a best friend) and some, we no longer speak. But you do not hear us speaking ill of them – not through cryptic notes, or through surrogates. It’s not how we want to live and we’re not going to spend precious time defending ourselves from a bunch of crap.

I want to spend that time making music and use it not just to do well, but also to do some good, and that’s what The True Meaning has been about this year.

The longest, most constant musical relationship I’ve had has been with Brad. He’s got integrity and he loves playing and I am inspired to go out on stage knowing that if he’s playing, we’re going to crush people! He’s my kind of people and I wish I knew more like him.

I’ve enjoyed playing some acoustic shows with Abe lately. He’s got a really good voice and it blends well when it’s us playing. We’re looking forward to having him play on Ursa Minor.

We don’t know what path Tony will take. We’ll just have to see.

What I do know is, we’re not done. We are inspired to find something that demands to be heard and share it. We’ve got a long way to go and you are invited to come along. Thank you to everyone at Assembly who’s supported us and thank you to the people who are all pissed off because it really does show how passionate you are about this music.

I hereby promise to post lots more video from recording Ursa Minor extra soon.

I agree on everything you say, Stephan.
Keep doing what you're doing. Because you have and will continue to touch so many lives. I know at least that you have touched mine greatly

I just love the fact that you used the word "hoo-ha."

    erikanicole, c'mon? for real?

to the people that are bashing on here:

what is effing wrong with you people? leave stephan alone and enough of your nonsense. it is so disrespectful. i swear, this generation of 'children' disgust me. Im into my 30's, soon to be 33 and again and again I see this type of behavior amongst this generation (obviously, not all of you are like this but I witness it more and more everywhere I go, even in public). Get off the computer and read a book or throw a ball around outside. It's winter, go snowboarding or ice skating. I'm usually a lurker here and there but sheesh, I cant stop but write in a few times due to the immaturity i am witnessing. I love 3eb but I have a life outside of the band. Im not trying to act like im a know it all b/c im a little older than the norm on this site (FYI: there are just as much 30 and 40 somethings that are into this band but i feel that my age group is just not into these new types of social networking as much).

Moreover people, this is Stephan's business, literally, im saying business. In economic terms, business. He owns 3eb. He runs 3eb. Get over it. It is none of your 'business' how he runs his 'business.' Capisce? No one has the right to say what theyre saying even if you feel the way you do. You are actually the root to all evil, not Stephan. I think you all need a lot of growing up to do. Respect what they are going through as a band. You dont even know them and you act like you do. They are people just like us and have lives. Who cares that Stephan writes vague blogs...which he doesnt. He doesnt even owe anyone a blog. Shit, you're lucky he even put this whole thing together and even communicates through it. Who else does that? Actually, Im sure Stephan is embarrassed to have fans like you so im sure he doesnt give a fuck. He'll still have his 30 and 40 something year old fans, anyway. Now, go outside and read a book or something. My $.02.

    sj -

i'm wondering if this whole assembly thing is working out like you wanted?

you always said you were proud of the assembly - you wanted to give the 3eb community (notice i use the work community and not fans - we are more than fans. you wanted to create a community. thats what we are.) a place to live. talk. share. expand. debate. etc. you wanted to open up 3eb to us - your community.

but a community doesn't work like this sj - you dont open this up for everyone to have a voice - and then mute your own voice. its so hard to know what to think or feel when you say "never complain. never explain." - well it seems to me like you shouldn't be complaining b/c your getting money and others aren't. and if thats not true - then you definietly SHOULD explain.

this assembly isn't made for me or others to worship you. its not made for people to bow down at your feet - and the ppl that are stilling doing it - the ppl that did it before, disgust me.

    its gross.

your a man. your a person. i understand this - but people explain things. you are not better than us, you do not get away without an explanation.

    we deserve it.

the fans that have stuck by this shit for years. years. without anything in return. and now you guys come back, your on your way to giving us some great rock and roll --- and now this?

how can you honestly say "never explain" ... thats so dumb.

definition of community: "an interacting (**INTERACTING - please note that word) population of various kinds of individuals (as species) in a common location"... " joint ownership or participation (** PARTICIPATION)"

you evading the situation is not helping us or your self. so unless your gonna give us some sort of real insight - b/c contrary to popular belief i think you DO owe it to us, thats what we're all here in the assembly for - then i'm out.

I think this site is done... it has turned into something that isn't good. Though you had some good intentions, this hasn't worked out for the better. Sorry bro. Hope music continues to work for ya.
